Mercedes and Red Bull Racing are both racing somewhat of a home race at Silverstone. Both teams have a factory in Great Britain, and both hope for a victory. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko expects the title fight to resume this weekend and believes the battle is far from over., despite Red Bull's recent dominance.

The clash of the titans at Silverstone

In 2021 Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen are fighting for the world title, and it's making for an exciting battle between Red Bull Racing and Mercedes. At Silverstone, Formula One arrives at a circuit that has been very favourable to Mercedes in recent years, and can also be described as their home track. The same goes for Red Bull though.

''Silverstone has symbolic and psychological significance, although that is more the case for Mercedes. I'm afraid the decision in the F1 championship will last until the last races. Mercedes is just a strong team. Hamilton, like Max, is an exceptional talent, only with more experience'', Marko said in an interview with Motorsport-total.com.

Hamilton versus Verstappen

''The races that have been run so far are not yet decisive for the season. It would be nice to continue on the path we've started on in the last few races, but I don't think we should underestimate Mercedes.''

The same goes for Hamilton, according to Marko. Whereas in previous years the Austrian sometimes reported that Verstappen could already win in the same car, Marko is more cautious about that now. ''They are at least equal to each other, but when it comes to pure speed, Verstappen is a bit ahead,'' concluded Red Bull's top man.
