Max Verstappen certainly had a lot of bad luck during the Hungarian Grand Prix. While the Dutchman had an excellent start, Valtteri Bottas didn't, and his mistake caused Verstappen to drive the rest of the race with damage to his car.

It was also not the first accident that Mercedes caused. During the previous race at Silverstone it was Lewis Hamilton who caused Verstappen's problems. As a result, rumours started to circulate that Mercedes just meant to hit Red Bull Racing's car.

Tom Coronel, however, cannot imagine it, he says in an interview with Motorsport.com. "That's really just a mistake. It's very difficult: the same weekend I made it at Spa. I also braked for a moment and then I also knocked off someone who had started on pole position. That's just racing."

Verstappen needs luck

The accidents have meant that Verstappen has given up the lead in the world championship to Hamilton again. Coronel hopes that luck will soon be on Verstappen's side. "I see it a bit like driving through a village: with ten traffic lights you have five reds and five greens. Now, though, the greens have to start coming or the reds at the competition."
