Red Bull Racing isn't just performing extremely well in Formula 1, the Austrians can also be satisfied with their performance in the DTM championship. Liam Lawson is top of the leaderboard with two race weekends to go and a world title is within reach.
Lawson is one of Red Bull's most talented drivers and has proved in the DTM that he's ready for the next step in his career: Formula 1. Although securing a seat at a team isn't easy, Gerhard Berger reckons it's just a matter of time before Lawson finds himself driving between Verstappen and Hamilton.
"I'm one hundred percent sure that Lawson will make it to Formula 1," the former driver told Motorsport.com. "Probably not yet next year, because he still needs more experience in Formula 2, but he is without any doubt a candidate for Formula 1."
Lawson already faces interest
Lawson may need some time to develop himself, but that doesn't mean teams aren't keeping a close eye on him. "I was also present at Formula 1 at Monza and there people were already inquiring with me how exactly Lawson is doing in the DTM, that shows the interest in him."
