Perez clear on Mexico: 'We're a team, but it depends on the circumstances'

Sergio Pérez is all set for his home race in Mexico which will take place this weekend. In a press conference in Mexico City, the Red Bull Racing driver indicated that he wants to finish on the podium this weekend, Motorsport.com reported.
The Mexican has received two trophies for third place after the Grands Prix in Turkey and the United States. He is happy with these results, especially since the team lost its way in the middle of the season, causing him to miss out on important points. Despite that setback, Perez is ready to fight for points in the final five races. "I think we are in a good rhythm to fight for the podium in the last races. We are fighting for a lot in these last races, every point in these last five will be important."
Will he always help Verstappen?
Meanwhile, Perez is expected to help Max Verstappen where necessary. The 31-year-old driver is keen to help the Dutchman, but admits he's not sure he'll give up his spot so easily at his home race.
"It's complicated. We have to see where we are in the race. At the end of the day we are drivers working as a team. It's the big picture, we should look at the circumstances. The beauty of racing is that the decisions are made in the moment, in seconds, they are very complicated issues," he says.
