Mercedes losing out to Red Bull: 'They are one unit'

Max Verstappen is doing everything he can this season to win his first world title. Four races before the end of the racing year, the Dutchman has a lead of nineteen points, which makes the Austrian racing team the most likely candidate. According to Kai Ebel, this is partly due to Mercedes itself, he told RTL Germany.
The German team was one of the top teams in Formula 1 in recent years but suddenly had to deal with competition this season. It clearly caused panic in Toto Wolff's team, which affected the entire organisation.
Ebel believes that the feeling within the Mercedes team is therefore not positive towards the end of the season. "I believe the atmosphere in that team is just better," he points to the team of Verstappen and Sergio Perez. "That's very important. I believe everyone is pulling together at the moment. They are one unit."
Hamilton goes for world title again in 2022
Should Verstappen take the world title, the Dutchman will break a long period in which Mercedes grabbed the world championships. However, Ebel expects Hamilton to return next season. "I believe the Hamilton era is not over yet, but he has had headwinds now. Verstappen and Red Bull are a strong team at the moment."
