The 'war of words' continue at the Abu Dhabi GP.
Max Verstappen and
George Russell argue about what happened in Qatar, and their team principals,
Christian Horner and
Toto Wolff joined in taking jabs at each other. Therefore, GPblog presents you the question: Who do you think is right about what happened in Qatar?
The origins of the story lie in Qatar, where after qualifying, Verstappen received a one-place grid penalty for 'impeding' Russell in Q3. After he won the Qatar GP, Verstappen said at the press conference that Russell did everything he can so the stewards would penalise him, and said he has lost all of his respect for the Briton. Christian Horner called the Mercedes driver 'hysterical' also because of how he reacted to not getting the tyre compound he wanted.
On Thursday, Toto Wolff was also present during Russell's press moment. The team principal called Christian Horner a
'yapping little Terrier',
to which Horner responded of course on Friday. The Red Bull team principal also underlined Verstappen is not a liar.
Russell also claimed that Verstappen was swearing in the stewards' room, however, Sky Sports' lead commentator
David Croft said that is not true.
At a point where many things have been sent, GPblog asks you the question: Do you agree with Verstappen, or do you agree with Russell? Vote in the poll, and share your thoughts in the comments below!
