Alexander Albon will return to
Formula 1 this season. The Thai will be working for
Williams, where he will have the difficult task of succeeding
George Russell. The driver is nevertheless relaxed about the new season, he said in an interview with
Speedweek.com.
The driver started his career at Toro Rosso, after which he got the chance at
Red Bull Racing. Albon had to replace
Pierre Gasly in the current season and in the year and a half that followed did not manage to come close to the performance of
Max Verstappen. Therefore, the Austrian racing team opted to recruit
Sergio Perez.
However, it did not cause Albon to give up his dream of driving longer in
Formula 1. Perez worked hard behind the scenes at Red Bull and thus had the opportunity to sign a contract with
Williams after one season. To that the driver decided to go, so he will start in Bahrain in a few weeks.
Albon on his character
Albon seems to have a calm character, but this is far from always the case. In the interview, he honestly admits that he can get angry sometimes. "If something changes at the last minute," Albon explains. "When you have something figured out and then suddenly everything is different. That gets on my nerves."
