Alexander Albon has been under considerable pressure at
Red Bull Racing for some time now. His podium at Mugello managed to silence his critics that for a while, but since the race at the Nürburgring there has been a lot of speculation about his future again. Albon has been reflecting on the progress he has been making and revealed where he needs to improve.
"Qualifications are getting better and better. The races aren't going so badly. It's going in the right direction, but I have to work on my starts, then the results will automatically be better," said the Thai driver according to
Formule1.nl at the press conference on Thursday.
Even though he says that things are improving a little, he realises that the pressure is still there. Although according to him the pressure comes mainly from outside, because he feels a lot of support from the Red Bull team.
Nevertheless,
Helmut Marko in particular has been flirting with the possible arrival of
Sergio Perez or
Nico Hulkenberg in recent weeks, although Albon still has his fate in his own hands. He's therefore focused entirely on keeping his place, and as he explained:
"I am not looking anywhere else."
