Alexander Albon is happy to be back in
Formula 1. The Thai has been under contract with
Williams since this season and enjoys acting in the motorsport class every race weekend. In conversation with
Insider.com he says he feels even stronger than during his time with
Red Bull Racing.
The Austrian racing stable put Albon in place of
Pierre Gasly at the halfway point of the 2019 season. Where expectations were high, Albon never managed to live up to himself. As a result, Red Bull decided to say goodbye to him at the end of 2020 and put
Sergio Perez in his place.
Last season he was working behind the scenes for Red Bull in a simulator. "It was a very different position because I couldn't actually drive the car. So a lot of what I was doing was on a simulator. It was done with my trainer," explained Albon, who was still trying to improve during that period.
Albon performs satisfactorily at Williams
However, he was relieved when
Williams became concrete and decided to bring him in.
"I feel more prepared and more ready for Formula One than I was before, despite having a year away from it." This season, for the time being, he scored three points for his team.
