Fernando Alonso is another step closer to the illustrious triple crown after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Spaniard also admitted that getting it is a very attractive option for him now.
The triple crown means that you as a driver have won the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Monaco Grand Prix/an F1 title (depending on who you ask) and the Indy 500. The latter is now the only one that still eludes the Spaniard.
"I had a good rhythm and sometimes a bit of luck with the overtaking at some points," he told Motorsport.
"The triple crown is certainly an attractive goal now.
"You become a better and more complete driver because of it.
"In the Formula One, you're completely dependant on the performance of the team.
"If [the team] is the strongest, you'll be first or second.
"For the Indy, you have to be able to beat a oval racing specialist or like here, get to the level of the endurance-guys."
