Fernando Alonso has set his sights on improving his qualifying speed at Hockenheim this weekend.
Alonso is determined to perform better in qualifying for the German Grand Prix this weekend.
The McLaren driver has seven point finishes this season as we approach the halfway point - meaning the Spaniard occupies eighth place in the drivers' standings.
Alonso has raced on the track ten times, including the old layout in 2001.
"I enjoy racing at Hockenheim and have won there three times so it's great to be back after a break last year," Alonso told The Checkered Flag.
"The track is viewed as one of the classics, it's fun to drive and there are a couple of overtaking opportunites - and an extra DRS zone this year - so hopefully we can fight with the cars around us."
Alonso's McLaren have found themselves having a very difficult season, but Alonso is determined him and his team keep pushing on to distance themselves from the Honda deal.
"We know we need to work on our qualifying performances to give ourselves the best chance on Sunday, but we've also seen that during the race we can push forward and secure points, so the aim is to achieve the same in Germany next weekend."
