Fernando Alonso already has one eye on the future beyond the World Endurance Championship. The Spaniard has already made clear his intentions of achieving motorsports Triple Crown, only needing an Indy500 race victory to achieve the feat.
He will be competing in the Rolex 24 Hours this weekend in Daytona but the former McLaren man has admitted that he is already thinking about the future beyond his current commitments in the WEC.
"Obviously I want to finish this super season in the best way possible," he told media ahead of the Rolex 24 hours.
"We are leading the world championship now, Le Mans will be the final race, it would be nice to have another opportunity to win it. Until June I am very busy, but after June it depends how it goes (with) the WEC championship, the Indy 500 in May.
"Maybe there are other challenges that may appear in the future, and the WEC is a priority or maybe not. That will be the final decision."
Alonso won the 2018 Le Mans 24 Hours with the Toyota team alongside Sebastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima, accomplishing the second of the three requirements of the Triple Crown.
