Red Bull title sponsor Aston Martin is known to be very interested in the prospect of turning into an engine manufacturer in the F1 from 2021, and the Red Bull title sponsor has admitted to being very pleased by the new plans for the future engines of the sport.
The main thing holding Aston back from joining the F1-world was the price tag the development of an engine had. Liberty Media and the FOM had already pledged to make future engines simpler and therefore cheaper, and they have delivered on that promise as far as Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer is concerned.
"We are extremely pleased to hear today’s news regarding the future of Formula One," Palmer said on Twitter after the new plans were announced by the Formula One.
"These prospective changes support many of the requirements needed for Aston Martin to enter the sport as an engine supplier."
Aston has been long-time partners of Red Bull, and are expected to be the engine partners for their partners if they eventually will manufacture power units. To be continued!
