After winning the
Monaco Grand Prix, fans spotted
Charles Leclerc cycling home from the paddock like it was any other Sunday. The Monegasque won on the streets he grew up in, with
Oscar Piastri and
Carlos Sainz joining him on the podium in the principality. After celebrating with the Scuderia and jumping into the iconic harbour, Leclerc rode his bike home. The
Ferrari driver was spotted by some eagle-eyed fans, who were ecstatic to see the home hero. Watch the clip here:
Leclerc casually cycles home:
Charles Leclerc won the
Monaco Grand Prix for the first time. The
Ferrari driver was born and raised in Monte Carlo. During the
F1 lap, he visits many places familiar with his childhood.
Leclerc has secured pole position in previous years, but something often went wrong for him. Once, he crashed after securing pole position and damaged his gearbox, which prevented him from starting the race. A Ferrari strategy blunder also cost him victory once in the place he calls home.
Many F1 drivers on the grid call Monaco home, including
George Russell,
Lewis Hamilton and
Max Verstappen. This is due to the lack of income tax, brilliant location, privacy and warm weather.
