Christian Horner feels the pressure
Ferrari are putting on Red Bull in the Constructors' World Championship.
Charles Leclerc and
Carlos Sainz secured a one-two finish at the
United States Grand Prix to move within eight points of the Austrian team who currently sit second ahead of
Ferrari. The Briton believes the Italian team could perform in next weekend's
Mexican Grand Prix.
"Five races to go now and a 57 point lead (in the drivers standings' ahead of Lando Norris). Nothing's ever comfortable or assured but it was important for us. This is the first time we've outscored Lando since I think Spa. So that was important for us to get off the back foot and more onto the front foot," the
Red Bull Racing boss said in the paddock.
What does Horner think about Ferrari's chances in Mexico?
Max Verstappen extended his lead in the Drivers' Championship and Red Bull cut the gap to
McLaren by one point. Ferrari also made ground on both of them. Horner was very impressed by the Italian team at the
Circuit of the Americas.
"The form is moving from day to day, circuit to circuit. I think Ferrari have brought performance here. They've looked very strong, particularly in the race trim. It was interesting. Obviously, they sacrificed perhaps a little in quali to benefit in the race. I'm sure they'll be competitive in Mexico City," Horner concluded.
