David Coulthard was the first driver of the then-newly formed Red Bull Racing team and has remained associated with the Austrians as an ambassador ever since. Perhaps the Coulthard name will return to Red Bull Racing in Formula 1 at some point, as David Coulthard 's son is trying to create a furore in motorsport.

Dayton Coulthard is 16 years old and will make the switch from karts to cars this season. He will compete in GP4, with team Douglas Motorsport. "I'm looking forward to working with Douglas Motorsport for the 2025 GB4 season," said Coulthard. "Moving into cars means I’ll have plenty to learn and I believe that the team can definitely help with my development."

Coulthard junior 'ready for single-seaters'

Team boss Wayne Douglas also commented: "We’re extremely excited to be working with Dayton as he prepares for his first races in single-seaters. He’s shown lots of promise so far with good progression, and we look forward to working with him to develop that talent as the season progresses.

"The jump from karting to single-seaters is a big one, but one that Dayton is ready for, and we’re hopeful of ever stronger results as he gains further experience."

Coulthard junior is going to see another familiar name in the British series with Lucas Magnussen, son of former F1 driver Jan Magnussen and half brother to Kevin Magnussen, being previously announced as a fellow driver in GB4.
