Dr
Helmut Marko, advisor of
Red Bull Racing, has acknowledged that
Daniel Ricciardo's drive during the
Monaco Grand Prix couldn't have been done any better by any other driver, as the Aussie took home the victory with a faulty engine.
Talking to
Sky Sports F1, Marko praised Ricciardo for his incredible driver that
earned him Driver of the Day.
"It was a serious problem and Daniel managed it unbelievably, unbelievable.
"I don't think any other driver could have done it."
The advisor admitted that he was far from confident when the problem was first reported, but that the team found a solution in the end that was good enough.
"I was very nervous.
"In the beginning it looked like it would slow the car further down but we settled it, changed set-up and he changed his driving style. Unbelievable."
