Ericsson thinks qualifying pace is holding Sauber back

Sauber's Marcus Ericsson thinks that a big factor of Sauber's lack of performance is because of their lack of qualifying pace, as the Swiss team hasn't gotten the compounds completely figured out yet.
According to the Swede, Sauber are more competitive in the races than in qualifying.
"It’s clear we are struggling more over one lap than on race pace," he told RaceFans.net.
"Charles [Leclerc] did a very good job in qualifying but still I think we are stronger for sure in the race."
That would be the main priority if Ericsson would be calling the shots at Sauber; understand the compounds better and improve one-lap performance.
"We are still struggling with the softer compounds, I have a feeling that for some reason we haven’t found a way to optimise them yet.
"That’s for me the main priority now that we need to find an extra bit of performance on Saturday because I really feel on Sundays we have a good car to fight the midfield."
