Marcus Ericsson has revealed he would be interested in following
Charles Leclerc to
Ferrari after the pair raced together at
Sauber in 2018.
Ericsson won’t be racing in
Formula 1 next season with the Swedish driver moving to IndyCar as
Sauber plan for life in F1 with
Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi driving for them in 2019.
“I would be very interested to follow Charles at Ferrari.” Said Ericsson to Crash.
“I think he can do really well, already next year.”
Ericsson is hoping that by Leclerc performing well at
Ferrari next year it will reflect well on him as he sets his sights on a quick return to motorsports premier division.
“And of course if he does really well there it would reflect good on me, so let’s hope he kicks some ass over there!”
Ericsson isn’t the only one who believes
Leclerc will thrive in 2019,
Esteban Ocon also thinks he can go for the title.
“I think Charles will fight for the title next year for sure,” said
Ocon.
“I know he has a very good talent from day one.
“He’s one of the quickest guys out there, and I think he will show that next year, definitely.”
