The controversial 'Mission Winnow' sponsor label on the SF90, from Philip Morris, is not shown in the new F1 2019 game made by Codemasters.
McLaren's controversial British American Tobacco 'A better tomorrow' slogan will also be removed.
Ferrari's Mission Winnow sponsor was removed for the Grand Prix in Australia. But Codemasters is set to ignore it for the full
Formula 1 2019 game.
According to Lee Mather, the game director at Codemasters, the company will prefer not to risk it. "We always go 'non-tobacco'. Even some of them that are quite marginal, there are often reasons why we can't," he said.
"We always have to err on the side of caution. The last thing we want is try
and sell in a territory where something is questionable," he told
RaceFans.
