After Max Verstappen received a ten for his performance at the Japanese Grand Prix in the Power Rankings of Formula 1 last week, there is once again a maximum score awarded to a driver after the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit.

Oscar Piastri grabbed pole position on Saturday during the race weekend and made optimal use of it on race day, winning by over 15 seconds to take his second victory of the 2025 season. The Australian driver now sits within three points of teammate Lando Norris in the drivers' standings.

Piastri receives a ten for his race weekend in Bahrain

According to the five-person jury that selected the scores for each driver, Piastri had an excellent weekend. "Using George Russell’s words, Piastri was in a “league of his own” across the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend – the Australian making a statement in his quest for the F1 world title by claiming pole position, posting the fastest lap of the race and taking the chequered flag first by a very comfortable margin."

Russell with a high score, Verstappen and Hamilton down the order

Russell scored the second-highest grade of 9.6 after taking a fine P2 in his Mercedes. "Russell was similarly impressive at the Bahrain International Circuit, emerging as Piastri’s nearest challenger in both Qualifying and the Grand Prix. His P2 result came despite a one-place grid penalty, an array of car issues, an ambitious soft-tyre final stint of more than 20 laps and huge pressure from McLaren rival Lando Norris to the finish," said the jury.

A P7 finish for Pierre Gasly gave Alpine their best result of the season so far, with an 8.8 grade scored, with Charles Leclerc right behind with an 8.6.

Verstappen received a 7.4 for his weekend in Bahrain, behind Esteban Ocon in fifth with an 8.0. "Following on from the above, what a difference a week makes for Max Verstappen and Red Bull. The Dutchman grabbed pole and victory at Suzuka, but this time had to settle for sixth after three days of brake problems, tyre struggles and a generally difficult balance inside the RB21. “Everything went wrong,” he summed up post-race," the jury expained.

Ollie Bearman, Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli scored a 7.2, 7.0 and 6.8, respectively, to come behind Verstappen, while Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top ten with a 6.6 grade after his P5 finish.

For the overall standings in the Power Rankings, this means that Piastri has now surpassed Verstappen. Russell gained two positions in the standings, while Norris dropped two places after his disappointing grade.
