The title battle between
Lewis Hamilton and
Max Verstappen has been rekindled. Tensions had been running high particularly after Silverstone, but things calmed down somewhat until the rivals clashed again at Monza.
Formula 1 boss
Stefano Domenicali does not see the incident as a problem and thinks it puts the sport in a good light.
The former
Ferrari team boss is happy not to be in the shoes of
Toto Wolff and
Christian Horner.
"The nice thing is that you don't feel the pressure that Lewis and Max, but also Toto and Christian will feel," he explains to
CNN.
Domenicali thinks tensions Verstappen and Hamilton are good for the sport
"It's great to see because they make a nice show of it for the audience. The limit is getting higher and higher as the season progresses," he continued. "This is a battle at maximum intensity, not only for the drivers but also for the teams."
"The situation at Monza would not have occurred if everything had gone perfectly for both drivers. Everyone is forced to drive on the limit. The great thing is that every time they are close to each other, both will try to get into the other's head. "Who's stronger? Should I give up or not? That's incredible in terms of tension," the 58-year-old Italian finishes.
