Max Verstappen was supreme at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. The Red Bull Racing driver was unstoppable from 14th on the grid and after a perfect qualifying lap on Saturday, he put in a perfect performance on Sunday as well. This is also reflected in the Formula 1 Power Rankings.

Perfect score for Verstappen

The analysts from Formula1.com Verstappen saw no wrong footing. "Even a P14 start couldn't derail the champion's drive to the front," reads the caption. "He qualified fastest and made startingly quick work of recovering to the podium positions, and from then there was no doubt that the Dutchman would take the lead. He was, as the saying goes, inevitable." The fastest lap and the honorary title of Driver of the Day were the icing on the cake for the championship leader.

Alexander Albon also scored high. The Williams driver defended his top-ten position like a lion and managed to hold on to the last point. He was rated 8.8, just ahead of Fernando Alonso's 8.6, who finished third. Despite the early crash with Lewis Hamilton, which damaged his Alpine, the two-time world champion managed to hold on to fifth place. In doing so, he did get some help from the time penalty imposed on Charles Leclerc.

Clearly your choice would be Lewis.

No , really

Nikneu 31 August 2022 at 15:31+ 157

remember Austria, Red Bull home, where he was overtaken twice by leclerc . Rocket man in the last race , Really you deserved to be the best driver with a rocket ? I think no

JapieKrekel 31 August 2022 at 18:29+ 8495

Now, that would hurt Lewis a lot, not so insensitive please .

THIS race, the car was indeed a rocketship like we have seen in the 2014-2020 era.

Let's hope it was track specific and Ferrari eakes up. Would otherwise be too bad for this season

I'm sorry the grapes you purchased were so sour

You mean Max, the best driver & class act, less year he beat Hamilton driving the fastest car, passing him in turn 5 - Big mistake, big one from Lewis, now two other teams have a fast car, Ferrari is very fast, unfortunately, Le Clerc is not in the same league as Max, the 2021 World Champion is nearly 100 points ahead of Charles, which is a good driver, quick over one lap. World Championships are not won over one lap, wouldn't you agree that they are won over a season!

Why are you comparing two completely different races? And why are you ignoring the details of this rocketship win? Managing the tyres on this track for instance is no mean feat.

Nikneu 01 September 2022 at 11:43+ 157

I don’t think that start in a P13 and in 22 laps to be P1 is a question of tyres management. Is a rocket man !! If you gives that rocket to Ocon, Russell, Norris, Gasly you will have a P1 , maybe no in the lap 22 but yes in the end of the race. Sorry I don’t think that in this case max perfomance was incredible

I'm not saying he got a 10 because he won with tyre management. He got a 10 because everything he did he did perfectly. He made zero mistakes this weekend. I just said don't dismiss the details. Tyre management is just one of the things on the list.

I never said that Max and the RB crew didn't manage to nail the setup that weekend, because they did 100%. They were flawless and deserving of that 10.

Agree with you that he doesn’t made any mistakes , but he had a rocket , are you agree?
