F1 Social Check: Gasly still manages to put laps in in Australia!

The start of the 2020 Formula 1 season seems to be a long way off again. And rightly so with the coronavirus causing havoc. While we wait for more news, we'll keep you up to date with the latest goings-on within Formula 1 teams and drivers with the social check.

There might not be an Australian Grand Prix, but that hasn't stopped Pierre Gasly from taking to the track down under! The Frenchman went back to his roots and put in some laps in a kart!

The 2020 Formula 1 season should now be underway with a result confirmed in Australia. However, it wasn't to be after precautions were made as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. While the teams wish they could have been out on the Albert Park Circuit today, they wish everyone the very best.

On this day, Formula 1 was greeted with some shocking news. Charlie Whiting passed away. He was a much-loved character on the paddock, and did a lot for Formula 1. Teams have posted their wishes on social media.

His rival Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen were out of Australia before the announcement was even made. But six-time world champion has remained in Australia and decides to challenge himself at rock climbing instead of qualifying.
