Fernando Alonso has "no intention" of returning to
Formula 1 in the short term future as the sport is too much of a commitment for the 38-year-old. However, he has kept his options open and has hinted at a possible return in the future.
"I have no intention of returning to Formula 1 in the short term," the Spaniard said at a presentation of the racing game GRID.
“I decided last year to leave so that I could catch my breath after eighteen years of full dedication at the highest level. That idea hasn't changed yet," he continued.
“F1 requires dedication 365 days a year and I can finally breathe a little. As soon as I have enough space, I will think of a return."
Alonso keeps hinting at a potential return and it will be interesting to see if any teams want him for a future season.
