The coronavirus has already stopped four races from happening on time, and it seems like they'll be more delays to the 2020
Formula 1 season. The COVID-19 is also affecting businesses and as a result of this, the
Ferrari assembly line in Maranello and Modena comes to a standstill.
The Italian sports car manufacturer is facing the first serious problems in the supply of parts and has, therefore, had to temporarily stop production. In a statement issued on Saturday,
Ferrari says it will last until at least March 27.
Louis Camilleri is grateful
However, all non-production activities will continue and all more than 4,000 employees will continue to be paid. In these difficult times, Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri is particularly grateful to his employees.
"In a time like this, my gratitude goes first and foremost to the women and men of Ferrari who, with their tremendous commitment over the past few days, have shown the passion and dedication that defines our brand."
"Together with our suppliers, they have taken care of the production of the company. And it is out of our respect for them, for their peace of mind and that of their family that we have chosen this path. Our customers and fans are also in our thoughts because we are preparing for a strong restart."
