Mattia Binotto is putting pressure on
Ferrari's staff. According to the team boss, it is good if the team gets used to working under pressure and so he has set a clear target for 2021.
In 2022, it all has to happen again for
Ferrari. With the new regulations, it's the chance for the Italian team to get back to the top. In 2021 the switch to next year's new car was made early on, but that doesn't mean the current season has been given up on. In fact, with Ferrari still battling it out with
McLaren for third place, this is now being made a goal.
Pressure on Ferrari staff
''It’s certainly a target that we have already communicated to the team,'' Binotto said at
Motorsport.com On achieving third place.
''I think everybody is on board with that. It would be great to finish third. I think even working with the clear objective by the end of this season, it’s important for us because it’s a way of working under pressure and being trained to that.'' Ferrari is now fourth in the standings, trailing McLaren by 7.5 points. A new engine was introduced in recent weeks, with some risk, and it seemed to pay off. ''So yes, our objective is to finish third at the end of the season,'' is therefore Binotto's clear message.
