Max Verstappen will start the race from pole position with
Lando Norris next to the Dutchman on the front row of the grid.
Valtteri Bottas was disqualified from qualifying and will start the race from the grid.
Bottas stalled at the end of the first part of qualifying. It later emerged that the Alfa Romeo driver did not have enough fuel on board, which meant a disqualification. The Finn had still qualified for Q2, but could not compete again. To enter the race, permission must be sought from the
FIA, which Alfa Romeo did. Bottas will simply start the British GP from the grid, according to a document from the organisers.
Verstappen captured his fifth pole position in a row in 2023 on Saturday. Behind him, surprisingly, were the two McLarens of Norris and
Oscar Piastri. The British team made upgrades to the cars and they seem to be working very well. After the two McLarens according to the
Ferrari's with
Charles Leclerc ahead of
Carlos Sainz. Mercedes start the
British Grand Prix sixth and seventh, with
George Russell ahead of
Lewis Hamilton.
