There's a suggestion that
Formula 1's traditional summer break may be filled with races in order for the schedule to catch up following race cancellations due to the coronavirus. The
Australian Grand Prix was cancelled at the last minute, but reports hint that the "ban" on racing will last until June.
A number of senior reporters, including Ziggo Sport commentator Olav Mol, report that teams are getting their heads together to work out what can be done.
For example, Mol says that the teams may want to finish the 2020 season in 2021 because racing can also be held in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi in January. They also want to lock the factories. A number of races, including the Dutch Grand Prix and Monaco Grand Prix, can be held during the summer break.
Finally, it is suggested that the new rules that are actually planned for the 2021 season will be introduced a year later. This gives the teams extra time to work on the new cars that they will lose this year due to the coronavirus outbreak.
