New
Red Bull driver
Pierre Gasly has admitted he is not afraid of his new team Red Bull and teammate
Max Verstappen.
The Frenchman will replace
Daniel Ricciardo in 2019 who is bound for
Renault and Gasly spoke to Formula One about how he and Verstappen go back a long way all the way to karting.
"I remember that in all four heats I had the pole, but that we ended up two of the four heats in the grass," he said to Formula One.
“At that time, Max was already very aggressive, we respected each other and drove hard against each other, but did not really have a close relationship, but in the end, we became friends, even though we walked different paths."
Gasly might be a year older than Verstappen but it’s the Dutchman with all the expectation, after a strong end to the 2018 season which included 2 victories but Gasly is not afraid of stepping up.
"I've always been busy, that's why I'm not afraid of Red Bull Racing next year, because I'm used to it, I'm looking forward to the duel with Max."
