Pierre Gasly has revealed where he is going wrong with his new RB15, which has caused his poor start to the 2019 season having only made it to Q3 once so far.
The Frenchman is in his debut season at Red Bull but in the opening three races, has only scored 13 points. After failing to score on his first Red Bull start in Australia he finished eighth in Bahrain before his best finish of sixth in China. Despite finishing P6 in China, Gasly was never challenging the front runners but was never in danger of being caught by Ricciardo in seventh.
Gasly recently revealed that he was being too aggressive and has now pinpointed his corner exits as an issue.
"Looking at the data, I can see where I'm losing time," Gasly told Auto Hebdo.
"It is not at corner entry but rather at the exit.
“I am too aggressive with the throttle, which causes the rear wheels to slide, as a result, my tyres wear out faster.
"We are trying to find a solution with the setup, but I must also adapt my driving to better exploit the potential of the car," added the Frenchman.
