Another small victory for Max Verstappen after his home race at the Zandvoort circuit, but by a large majority. The Red Bull Racing driver has been chosen by GPBlog readers as Driver of the Day of the Dutch Grand Prix.

No less than 74% of the votes went to the Dutchman who took pole position in front of his home crowd, won the race and drove the fastest lap. Verstappen did it for the second time in the Netherlands. With his victory and fastest lap, he is hurting rivals Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez in the championship standings. What started as a somewhat messy weekend was turned into a fine victory by the cool Verstappen under the watchful eye of over a hundred thousand Dutch F1 fans with a strategic race.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz who finished eighth received no votes from the GPBlog readers. Charles Leclerc, who finished on the podium, only got 1%. Lewis Hamilton, who seemed to have a shot at victory but fell short tactically, received 9% of the votes and comes second. In third place was his teammate George Russell with eight per cent of the vote. The Briton finished second after taking the initiative and changing tactics in the closing stages of the race. GPBlog readers chose Fernando as the next best with seven per cent of the vote. The Spaniard drove a solid race from starting position thirteen to the sixth finishing position.
