Haas F1 have expressed their continued interest in testing Pietro Fittipaldi in one of their Formula One cars, as the grandson of two-time F1 champion Emerson Fittipaldi has impressed in the WEC and IndyCar series this year.
Haas were previously in talks with Fittipaldi to take part in a test, but those talks were suspended after the Brazilian had a horrible accident at Spa Francorchamps in May in his LMP1 car.
It looked like it could be the last time the two parties talked to each other, but Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has confirmed that the American team is still interested in letting the 22-year-old have a go in their F1-car.
“He needs to get comfortable again,” Steiner told F1i.
"I'm going to see him again when I'm back in North Carolina and then we'll see what can be done for the end of the year."
Fittipaldi has recovered from his leg fractures as he competed in the IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course last weekend.
