Haas team boss
Guenther Steiner has argued that all issued that are addressed in the 2021 plans for the Formula One need to be done as a collective.
The change in engine rules will headline the rule changes in 2021, as Ferrari and Mercedes were already up in arms about the changes that were proposed by Liberty Media.
The F1-owners want cheaper, louder engines, which is something the two best teams of 2017 don’t like one bit.
“In my opinion everything goes together,” said Steiner. “Budget gap, prize money, engine regulation – everything.”
“What we’re expecting is that Liberty gives us an idea of what they want to do in 2021 a.s.a.p.”
“Whatever their plans are, we need to know. Then everyone, not only us, but too the teams that develop and fabricate engines, know what is expected. Everyone can make decisions on where they want to be in 2021 then.”
The Haas team boss believes that even though the plans are looking ahead to 2021, the blueprint should be decided before the end of this year.
“If you have a business you need to know what the market looks like, and that’s the same for us,” he added.
