Mercedes'
Lewis Hamilton has admitted that his team were simply outpaced by
Ferrari today, as the prancing horse was
"just too quick" for Mercedes to catch up.
Hamilton only managed to qualify fourth, behind both his teammate Valtteri Bottas and both Ferrari's, who will take up the front row. The man from Stevenage admitted that the Italian team were simply the better team on the day, but thinks that there could be some interesting developments on Sunday.
"Obviously, the goal was to get P1 today but the Ferrari's were just too quick," Hamilton told Sky Sports F1.
"It is what it is, and we'll try to recover from where we are.
"I've got the softer tyre so I should be able to go longer, so it's going to be interesting to see."
Can Hamilton salvage something from P9? Or is it too big of an ask for the four-time champ? We can't wait to find out tomorrow!
