Daniel Ricciardo does not believe that
Lewis Hamilton still has an advantage over
Max Verstappen. According to the Australian, the experience of the seven-time world champion does not count anymore at this stage.
Ricciardo and Verstappen sat down together for a press conference on Thursday. The two still get along well and that became clear when talking about the popularity award Verstappen had won. Yet it could also be serious, because asked about the title fight Ricciardo gives his former teammate a good chance to succeed.
Experience of Hamilton
''Lewis may have experience of winning championships, but I don't think that's an advantage for him at the moment. I think they are both capable of becoming world champions this year. Lewis has already proven himself, but I think Max is also capable enough for that,'' Verstappen said according to
Motorsport.com.
''He's very strong mentally, he's shown that at a number of races this year. So I'm looking forward to seeing how this continues to unfold. I'm not part of that fight, but as a fan, you obviously want something like this to go on until the end,'' concludes the
Red Bull Racing driver.
