Nico Hulkenberg broke a record that you don't want to have, as he became the driver with the most F1-races finished without getting on the podium.
He's gotten close three times by finishing fourth for Sauber at Belgium in 2012 and 2016, and at Korea in 2013, but no cigar for the German so far. And as of last year, he overtook Adrian Sutil's record of most finishes without podium. Hulkenberg, who previously stated that he's driving the best F1 of his career right now, doesn't seem too bothered that he has that record.
“It’s how the sport is, so you can’t really get too frustrated about that,” he said.
“Of course sometimes you run out of patience and you don’t like to see it, but there’s not so much you can do.
“We need to develop and develop faster, that’s the only thing we can do, and do a good job and take the right decision.
“I want a car now to be fighting for top five positions, but it’s not quite there yet.”
