Italian journalists have a clear feeling of who they want to replace
Kimi Raikkonen at
Ferrari, and if they get what they ask for - the
Daniel Ricciardo saga will be over.
Many journalists have been making their feelings clear for example, Luca Budel of Sports Mediaset said:
"While the young and dangerous Max Verstappen is still a phenomenon, it is Daniel Ricciardo who wins and the team takes on his shoulders.
"He deserves to get Ferrari's attention for the quality he has been putting on the asphalt for years."
Another journalist, Alberto Sabbatini of Autosprint, said:
"It is incomprehensible that Ricciardo has no contract with Ferrari before 2019.
"Sergio Marchionne should seriously consider him.
"He performs at the top of his ability and knows how to earn points for the team."
And finally, Piero Ladisa from Motori Online says:
"When Ricciardo goes to Maranello next year and forms a team with Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari gets a boost in reliability and quality.
"It could mean the most complete and potent duo on the grid."
