Sauber rookie Charles Leclerc thinks that the reputation his teammate Marcus Ericsson has is unfair, as the Monegasque thinks that Ericsson is, in fact, a very good driver who's helped him a lot.
Ericsson is in his fifth season in the F1 and his fourth at Sauber. The Swede has scored Sauber's only two points of the season in Bahrain when he impressively managed to finish ninth. Leclerc thinks that people should respect his teammate more.
"He has a bad reputation, but I don't think he deserves it," he said.
"He was very fast in Melbourne and Bahrain and that makes it difficult for me.
"But I'm learning a lot from him, I hope it stays that way.
Leclerc, who is very highly rated by everyone at Ferrari, still hasn't scored a point this season after three races, but he has managed to out-qualify Ericsson for the first time in China. He's clearly learning on the job, but the Monegasque youngster has a very high ceiling.
"He's the best teammate I've ever had," Ericsson said about Leclerc.
"He's very fast, but I feel like I've improved too.
