Leclerc praises teammate Sainz: 'This is great for me'.

With the first half of the 2021 season now behind them, it is safe to say that Ferrari are on their way out of the doldrums of previous years. With Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in positions five and six of the driver classification the Italian team has secured a strong position in the midfield. In light of this, Leclerc pays a compliment to his team as well as his teammate.

"I'm enjoying this season. It's not an easy phase for the team," Leclerc began in conversation with Motorsport.com. In total, Ferrari managed to drive to the podium three times in the first half of the season.

In light of it being Carlos Sainz's first season with Ferrari this year, Leclerc sees the future as even more promising. "We are obviously trying to reconstruct everything to be back at the top as soon as possible and this is the first year with Carlos as a teammate," said the Monegasque racer.

Leclerc concluded by complimenting the Spaniard, who has managed to secure a championship lead over his teammate by three points: "But it's going very well. We are pushing each other and he is very competitive, which is great for me."
