Charles Leclerc and
Max Verstappen have battled all season long with Leclerc leading in the Drivers' standings. Former-Ferrari driver,
Felipe Massa believes Leclerc will win a
Formula 1 World Championship before his rival Verstappen.
Both drivers have enjoyed strong seasons with their respective teams, both achieving two race wins. Verstappen racked up wins at the
Austrian and
German Grands Prix whilst Leclerc enjoyed success in Belgium and at
Ferrari's home race at Monza.
The pair have both clashed on track this season and it has helped their rivalry simmer this season. Felipe Massa believes
Charles Leclerc could be the first to strike a title blow in the rivalry.
"He's an upcoming world champion and I think we do not have to wait long, and I do not rule out that he will goal reached even before Verstappen," Massa told
Motorsport-Total.
"Seven pole positions in the first Ferrari season are a clear message. "What impresses me most about him is how he handles pressure.
"He has made a few mistakes, but you can not ignore his still limited Formula 1 experience, especially since he's in his first season in a top team."
