American Football team Denver Broncos got Lewis Hamilton to help launch their 2024 schedule by getting the seven-time world champion to try foods from their opponents. Hamilton has part-owned the team since 2022.
In the video posted on the Denver Broncos Twitter, Hamilton tries different foods that represent the NFL teams the Broncos will play in 2024.
It starts with Hamilton dipping carrots into ranch dressing for the Indianapolis Colts, saying beforehand "I'm not big on ranch. There's no way they eat carrots down there." before conceding that he does like it: "Actually that is really banging."
Hamilton did enjoy the avocado toast, which was associated with the Los Angeles Chargers. "This is bomb" was Hamilton's response. However, the worst one for the Mercedes driver was the southern grits, associated with the Carolina Panthers. Hamilton winced as he tried it, saying "That is definitely the worst one. What the hell is that? The texture is so slimy...that one has really offended me." He also left the dog biscuits from the Cleveland Browns for his bulldog, Roscoe.

However, the video received backlash from Broncos and F1 fans. One reply to the video read "@Broncos Some constructive criticism. Social media team, as you know, this is your Super Bowl, and historically you guys have done a good job with the schedule releases, but this video was a stretch from the get-go. Lewis Hamilton may be a team owner, but he has no emotional connection with this fanbase. This is why it is better to either use current players, or just your fallback Peyton Manning if you must showcase a real person. Otherwise, just make a sick video edit. Take notes from the @chargers. They required zero people to appear in the video for it to work well. I hope that you guys can bounce back next year. Not that Lewis did a bad job here, but the idea from the jump just needs some tweaks."
Another reply to the tweet read "This was not a very good schedule release. Regardless, go Broncos.", with another one also agreeing it wasn't good: "This might be the worse schedule release I've ever seen."
Hamilton joined the Broncos franchise as part of the Walton-Penner family takeover of the team in August for a record price of $4.65bn back in 2022.
