Daniel Ricciardo hopes to improve his form in Azerbaijan. In recent weeks there has been increasing speculation about his position at
McLaren, but according to the Australian himself, this is actually a positive thing.
The future of Ricciardo
Ricciardo is in his second season at
McLaren and the results continue to disappoint. The Aussie can't keep up with the speed of his much younger teammate
Lando Norris, so at the press conference prior to the
Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the question about his performance couldn't be left out either.
"I am happy that people are talking about me because obviously the public is very aware of the results I have achieved in the past, of what I have been capable of, and so it is news that I am in such difficulty at the moment," Ricciardo is quoted by
FormulaPassion.it. He adds that he is not uncomfortable with the current situation and that, on the contrary, he likes to feel this pressure, because when the good results finally come, it will feel even better.
Chaos in Baku?
Looking ahead to the race at the
Baku City Circuit, Ricciardo is hoping for some chaos. Ricciardo already won a crazy edition of the Azerbaijani GP once in 2017 and he thinks the unpredictability of the race will bring additional opportunities.
