Kevin Magnussen has downplayed recent speculation linking him to Kimi Raikkonen's
Ferrari seat in 2019. The Dane has put in a string of impressive points-scoring performances for Haas in 2018 and he only added to his points total in Austria.
He told BT newspaper that he saw his future at Haas as the team had made a great step forward this season in the midfield battle.
“We are close (to a new deal), and I am fond of Haas.
“Unless I have an offer from a top team, I cannot see a better place to be.
“And I do not have an offer from a top team.”
When asked about the rumours of Ferrari, Magnussen responded: “That’s not something I’m focusing on.
“Like many others, I dream of running for a top team, but right now focus on Haas.”
Magnussen isn't the only driver linked with a move to Ferrari. Sauber's Charles Leclerc, a part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, has been linked with replacing the Finn at the Scuderia for 2019. The Monegasque driver has been equally if not more impressive so far this season, often hauling the Sauber out of Q1 as well as scoring points for the team.
