Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne has told Liberty Media to stop interfering with the business of making Formula One cars.
The hot-headed president of the Italian brand already threatened Ferrari would leave the F1 after 2020, but told Corriere dello Sport at the Geneva Motor Show that he thinks a compromise will be found.
"We want protection of the DNA of this sport," Marchionne explained. "We don't want it deluted by commercial and entertainment factors."
"I believe Liberty doesn't understand a thing about the technical side of F1. So let us work."
"If one competitor can't be distinguished from the next - if we can't stand out from Mercedes - we'll do something else."
Following these very kind and flattering words towards Liberty Media, the Canadian-Italian looked ahead to next season, and Ferrari's chances to win their first championship since Raikkonen won it in 2007.
"It's definitely the quietest season I've faced since I joined in 2014. The boys are in control more than before."
"We have all the conditions we need and I think the car can be a winner at 51 percent of the races this season."
