Sebastian Vettel has had a new chassis installed in his
Ferrari SF1000 for the
Spanish Grand Prix. However, according to
Red Bull Racing advisor
Helmut Marko, the chassis is not the reason for Vettel's lesser results. Marko thinks it has a psychological cause.
Psychological problem
Marko says on the RTL web show Sportbude that he thinks Vettel's lesser results are a mental issue. He thinks back to Vettel's Red Bull days: “We once had a similar problem between Barcelona and Monaco. Sebastian struggled with the car, we couldn't find anything. ”
“We eventually found a small hairline crack in the chassis,” continues the 77-year-old Austrian. “When we changed it, Seb's confidence was back and things were improving. I see this more as a psychological problem than a technical problem. ”
Bad start to the season
Vettel has a weak start to his season. After five races, the German has only accumulated ten points. That is about a quarter of the points total of his teammate
Charles Leclerc.
