Michael Schumacher's former manager Willi Weber has given up hope that the
Rekordmeister will ever recover from his accident, as the seven-time champion went into a coma after a heavy skiing accident in 2013.
Weber was Schumacher's manager for 20 years, and grew to be one of the closest friends of the German, as he became close with the entire Schumacher family. However, the former colleague has officially given up hope that his friend will ever make a full recovery.
"After a long period of mourning, I've put it to an end - I've closed it off," Weber said in an interview with the German magazine Bunte.
"I would go crazy otherwise.
"We had the best, most successful time together and spent a lot of time together for 20 years, through thick and thin.
"But we no longer have our fate in our own hands."
He then added that Schumacher never wanted to move to Mallorca, like his family did. He's surprised that they tried to do so.
"Michael never wanted to live in Mallorca, he didn't feel good there.
"It wasn't his dream island, even though many people pretend that he loved Mallorca.
"That's not true."
There has been little to zero word from Schumacher since 2013, but reports did indeed come out that his family intended to move Schumacher to a house on Mallorca to continue his recovery there. Weber saying his friend will never make a full recovery is very, very sad news indeed for the Schumacher family as well as the entire world of motorsports.
