Charles Leclerc will start the Grand Prix weekend in Miami with a new gearbox. The
FIA reports that the
Ferrari driver is changing the part for the first time, so a possible grid penalty is not in sight for now.
New gearbox for Leclerc
Ferrari fans need not worry: the Italian racing team changed Leclerc's gearbox before the start of the first free practice session. So it does not indicate any sudden problems with the part.
Red Bull Racing drivers
Max Verstappen and
Sergio Perez already changed the part at an earlier point in the season. In total,
Formula 1 drivers have four gearboxes at their disposal before a grid penalty looms.
