During FP3 he was the fastest driver on track, but the practice session could also become a very expensive one for
Sergio Perez. Afterwards he had to report to the stewards, who finally decided not to give him a grid penalty for the
Monaco Grand Prix.
Perez is getting away with it, as the Mexican only received a formal warning for obstructing
George Russell during FP3.
Red Bull Racing must pay a fine of 10,000 euros for the incident.
Carlos Sainz was also called to the stewards for blocking
Lance Stroll. The Spaniard was punished a little harder, as he received a reprimand. It is already the third reprimand for the
Ferrari driver this season. With a fifth reprimand, a driver receives a grid penalty.
Perhaps a penalty for Perez after all
Perez may have been lucky in VT3, but due to his crash during qualifying, he may still receive a grid penalty. It is not yet certain whether the Mexican's gearbox survived the incident.
