Lando Norris can be happy with his result in qualifying for the
Mexican Grand Prix. The
McLaren driver qualified ahead of Fernando Alonso and
Esteban Ocon and that is the most important thing for the British racing stable at the moment.
Norris happy with qualifying
McLaren is embroiled in an intense battle with Alpine for fourth place in the championship. In that, Alpine currently seems to have the upper hand, but McLaren is not ready to give up the fight just yet. Norris has at least taken an important step by qualifying ahead of both Alpines, with
Daniel Ricciardo starting just behind them on P11.
At Viaplay, Norris speaks of a good but tricky session because of the wind that picked up. "The wind changed a little bit and I wasn't expecting it to have much effect because the wind is so light, but it seemed to have a massive effect," the young Briton observes.
He continued: "Everyone was locking up into turn one a lot more and making many mistakes, I was included in that. In the end, I feel like I've did a very good job, a very good lap being in Q3 and ahead of the Alpines. So I'm satisfied with that."
